Remainder

The impermanence of feelings
Has taken me to a place
Where everything is nothing
And time is just a thought.

I am made of salt
And if rain ever falls
I will melt through your fingers
Like I do upon your touch.

You are a whisper in the wind
And will be carried away
To my fertile land of pleasure
That unfolds for us to stay.

Hear the cry of a crisp river
Never ending, deep and clear.
Hear it coming down the mountain
Is it the song of your heart?

Emptiness can fill this space;
Then nothing would be missing.
I may never learn to close my eyes
To prevent you from seeing my inside.

Well, if I could only tell
Why air is underestimated,
I will think at every breathe I take
And in my thoughts I’ll suffocate.
